Jacksonville State University conferred degrees to 582 students at its fall commencement ceremony on Dec. 13.

Full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a grade point average of at least 3.65 qualify for the Provost's List. The Fall Semester includes students at the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 2 includes students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with locations outside of Alabama and online.

The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Fall 2018 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Troy University is pleased to recognize students who completed the requirements for graduation during the Summer Semester and Term 5 of the 2017/2018 academic year. The Summer Semester includes graduates from the Troy, Ala., campus. Term 5 graduates include students at TROY's campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., along with teaching sites outside of Alabama and online.

A record 1,240 degrees were awarded. That tops the 2017 record of 1,165. An estimated 250 students graduated with honors. In the seven commencement ceremonies, 33 different degree programs were recognized, including the first graduates in the Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Athletic Training, Master of Science in Respiratory Care, Master of Science in Health Informatics and Bachelor of Science in healthcare administration programs in the College of Health Sciences. Graduating students represented 28 states and seven other countries: United Kingdom, Malaysia, China, France, South Korea, Canada and Germany.

Jacksonville State University was hit by a destructive EF-3 tornado in the middle of the spring 2018 semester, but that didn't keep 2,079 students from earning top grades.
